SLOW VERSUS QUICK EXIT COMBINATION TRANSIT TIMES

Certain foods, when eaten together, take two to three times as long to digest as other food combinations. For example, an avocado on a piece of toast (a good quick exit combination) requires only three to four hours in the stomach, whereas that same piece of toast combined with an egg requires upward of eight hours in the stomach and that’s just the stomach, not the entire digestive tract (clearly, a slow exit combination). After enjoying a quick exit combination, your body can quickly get back to work strengthening and rejuvenating itself, whereas a slow exit combination will draw all your energy to your stomach for hours on end and leave you feeling less vibrant.

YOU NEED TO TAKE THE GARBAGE OUT!

What would happen if you started cleaning your house but left the garbage in random heaps throughout it? Your house wouldn’t actually get clean, and soon those heaps would make their way around the whole house again. It would be a wasted effort all in all. Likewise, if you do all the hard work to clean your body but leave the debris in heaps around the eliminative organs without ensuring they get fully eliminated, they are simply going to resettle in your cells again. To avoid this, your organs need some extra help to eliminate the waste you’ve collected. This is the time to call in “the waste management specialists.”

As you cleanse your body, the waste is directed to your five major eliminative organs for discarding; these include the skin, kidneys, colon, spleen, and liver. The waste matter you’ve drawn up through the detox diet will be processed through all of these organs as part of your “local waste management system.” If you are young and strong, your body will manger much of this waste seamlessly. But if you are over thirty and in poor condition, there are several things that you can do to help this process along. While you might not be inclined to try all of the following ideas, I would highly recommend that you take on at least a couple of them. WASTE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST TIP #1: EMPLOY GRAVITY METHOD COLONIC HYDRATION

In an idea world, the colon would eliminate the residue from the food that is digested in the intestines after complete processing. If this were true for you, you would move your bowels five times each day for every three meals and two snacks that you consume, per the standard American diet. Do you move your bowels five times? I didn’t think so. Do you move your bowels once a day? Well, that’s helpful, but not nearly enough. Are you chronically constipated or do you struggle with IBS or other digestive disorders? Many of you do, as I’ve seen in my practice.

Think for a moment about what happens when you do not eliminate the waste from your meal. Whatever is not eliminated gets baked into your cells and into your intestines at 98.6F (that’s basically the temperature of a dehydrator). This matter gets further cooled into your cells over time and can remain in your body indefinitely, slowing down your body’s overall physical performance. Combine this backup in your colon with the waste that you have drawn up through your detoxification, and you can imagine how helpful it would be to have this waste gently and safely removed.

The Light of His Imminent Coming

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. (1 John 2:28)

Why has He not revealed to us the time of His coming? “That, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.” A Christian ought to live in the light of the imminent coming of Christ. If you tell me today that He is not coming for another ten years, then I do not need to worry about today, and I can be a little careless in my living. But if He might come today, if He came right at this moment, He would catch me preparing this Bible study and that would be fine. I hope He will come at a time like that, but I don’t know when He will come. There are times when I get behind a driver who won’t let me around to pass him, and I tell him what I think of him. If the Lord were to come at that moment, I might be ashamed at His appearance. So you and I need to be living all the time in the light of His imminent return.

A great many people are talking about the coming of Christ, and they get very excited about it; but it certainly is going to be embarrassing for them because they will not have any confidence and they are going to be ashamed before Him at His coming. Why? Because of their lives. The Lord Jesus says, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be” (Revelation 22:12). Many people will look around for their reward, and they will find that they haven’t got any. Paul wrote, “If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire” (1 Corinthians 3:15). It is very important to have a life that commends the gospel.

False doctrine and false living go together; true doctrine and true living go together. Every now and then you hear of a cult leader who is in trouble because he is guilty either of adultery, or of taking money which doesn’t belong to him, or of beating some person out of money. Why? False doctrine leads to false living. True doctrine leads to true living. There is nothing that will affect your life as much as the knowledge that you are going to stand in the presence of Christ and give an account of your works. Every believer will stand before the judgment seat of Christ (see 2 Corinthians 5:10). The issue of salvation has already been settled because we are His children and in His presence. It is not a question of whether you are saved or lost; it is a question of whether or not you are going to get any reward or recognition. There will be some folk who will not get any recognition. The Rapture is not going to be such a thrilling event for a great many believers because of the lives they lived down here.

If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. (v. 29)

The Word of God is the real test. In effect John is saying that God’s children look like the Father – they take after their Father. If they don’t take after the Father, they must not be the Father’s children. It is just as simple as that, my friend.

Devour Green Lemonade

If I were to tell you that there is something that you can drink that literally infuses your bogy with millions of enzymes, keeps your immune system strong year-round, offers unparalleled protection against osteoporosis, and taste highly refreshing and filling, would you want some? It’s called Green Lemonade, and I don’t know a single successful raw foodist who does not drink some variation of this recipe (see recipe below) as the foundation of their Raw Food Diet.

It’s a fact: nothing is more live-enzyme-loaded, easily absorbable form of nutrition available on the plant today. Unfortunately, when most people think of vegetable juice, they typically picture canned V-8 or, worse still, nauseating shots of wheatgrass juice! Green Lemonade

MAKES 1 SERVING

1 head romaine lettuce or celery

5 to6 stalks kale (any type)

1 to 2 apples (as needed for sweetness-I recommend organic Fuji)

1 whole organic lemon (you don’t have to peel it)

1 to 2 inches fresh ginger (optional)

Process the vegetables in a juicer, pour into a large glass, and drink! Notice how the lemon really cuts out the “green” taste that most people try to avoid.

You may use any green in place of the romaine and kale-like celery, chard, collard, spinach, cucumber, and so forth-as long as there are some dark leafy greens in there, too! This recipe shows a way to keep it simple with just two types of greens.

For best results, enjoy Green Lemonade on an empty stomach. It’s perfect in the morning thirty minutes on either side of fresh fruit, or in the afternoon at least three hours after a properly combined lunch, or thirty minutes before dinner. But it’s not a good idea to drink it with meals. Sipping a bit of liquid (like wine) is fine, but liquid dilutes the digestive juices that we depend on for optimum digestion. The goal is to start by drinking approximately 12 ounces of Green Lemonade each day. Gradually work your way up to 24 to 40 ounces each day. Some is better than none. You cannot drink too much of it, as long as it’s consumed separately from food.

Why juice the vegetables instead of eating them?

Imagine chopping all the above ingredients into a bowl and eating them. It would take quite a lot of time and particularly a lot of chewing! However, by juicing them we can ingest the quintessential organic water, chlorophyll, and enzymes from heaping mounds of romaine lettuce, kale, cucumber, celery, and other greens in just minutes, without expending any digestive energy. In addition to getting innumerable amounts of enzymes from drinking vegetable juices, there also are enzymes trapped deep inside the fibers of fresh vegetables that we can’t absorb through normal digestion but that can be released by a juicer.

THREE CORE WAYS TO FLOOD YOUR BODY WITH LIVE ENZYMES

One: Consume only flesh fruits or juices until lunchtime.

Eating only fruit in the morning is the best breakfast for a number of reasons. First, it enables you to eat one purely raw food meal in the day, which means that without much effort you could reach a minimum of 30 percent raw foods by midday. Second, since one of the keys to cleaning our bodies is to expend our internal energy on healing our bodies, we don’t want to waste precious energy all day long on digesting the food we eat. With only twenty to thirty minutes transit time in the stomach, fresh fruit delivers energy to the body without wasting digestive energy.

This is a win-win scenario: you get to eat but you don’t have to waste energy in the stomach that would be better spent turning over new cells, healing your organs, and revving up your metabolism! The morning is also the idea time to consume fruit since, as you now know, fruit must only be eaten on an empty stomach. A good rule of thumb is to wait three to four hours after a properly combined meal before eating fruit again. If you eat flesh in your meal, however, it is best not to go back to fruit again that day. I cannot stress enough that you should never eat fruit with any other food group or even shortly thereafter.

Morning is also the time when the body is ripe for elimination. Putting concentrated food (anything other than fresh fruits and vegetables and their juices) into the body during this time puts this elimination response (our best tool in weight loss) on hold so that the body can go to the heavily laborious task of digestion. At a time when your body is actually in a mode to help you lose excess weight (eliminate waste), don’t defeat its best efforts by telling it to do something else-like digest a heavy food item or meal.

If you usually consume breakfasts of cooked, concentrated food, your body is going to expect that food tomorrow. If it does not receive that food, it is going to wonder where it is. I refer to this as “stimulation.” Missing that stimulation, your body may make some growling noises or you may experience some light cramping, which is often referred to as “hunger pains.” Of course, virtually no one in this country “USA” actually knows what it is to go hungry.

Nonetheless, let’s make it clear that you are not starving yourself or otherwise hungering. These are just signs of stimulation, and they will disappear after two to three days of eating only fruit in the morning.  You should not feel light-headed because you will be getting plenty of fruit sugar into your bloodstream. Mentally you should feel very clear, while physically light and energetic. If you feel light-headed you are most likely not eating enough fruit. Feel free to eat as much fruit as you need. You might eat a cantaloupe at eight o’clock in the morning, a box of strawberries at nine, a couple of bananas at ten, and then some sliced pineapple at eleven. This would certainly be well within the range of a typical RAW FOOD DETOX breakfast. Some of you are thinking that this sounds like more than you could ever eat. Others of you can imagine yourselves easily going through this much fruit before lunch. Find the amount that works for you, and be aware that it might vary from day to day.

No Child Left Behind

And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go? And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD. And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you. Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence. (Exodus 10:8-11)

Pharaoh told Moses that the adults could go into the wilderness and sacrifice but they were to go without the children. Pharaoh suspected, undoubtedly, that if Israel would go three days’ journey into the wilderness they would keep going. He wants to stop them, and he knows that if he keeps the children, the adults will come back.

Just as Pharaoh tempted and tested Moses with compromise, so the child of God today is tempted with compromise. Children all across the country are being brought up in an educational system that is absolutely contrary to the teachings of Christianity. The child of God is told that he must learn to get along in the world, make all the money he can, and get involved in the world. I have been a pastor for over thirty years, and again and again I have seen Christian parents want the best for their children. They want them to have the best education. They want them to succeed and be rich. One after another has fallen and departed from the Lord. Many members of churches I have served have lost their children to the world. Wanting the “best” of the world for their children is the most subtle temptation that can come to Christian parents.

What do you expect, my friends, when you send your children to these worldly institutions and they come home thoroughly brain-washed? Why do you say, “My, how could he do that when he was brought up in a Christian home?” The problem is that he was not actually raised in a Christian home. The parents of many young people may be lovely Christian people but they did not really train their children in Christian precepts and values. They were so anxious and ambitious for them to get on in the world that they lost them.

Moses and Aaron would not accept Pharaoh’s compromise. There is a lesson here for the modern-day Christian. God called Israel to leave Egypt “lock, stock, and barrel.” The children were not to be left in Egypt to be raised in their educational system. If we expect to bring our children up in the wisdom of the world and expect them to pour all of their energies into becoming successful, we should also be prepared to lose them to the world.

“Churchianity” Revealed

To some church members, religion is a rite or a ritual or a legalistic and lifeless form, a liturgical system marked by meaningless and wearisome verbiage. There is a lot of religious garbage in our so-called conservative and evangelical churches also. There is a ceaseless quoting of tired adjectives and a jumble of pious platitudes. We so often hear people say, “We want to share our faith.” My friend, most people don’t have enough faith to share. It’s not your faith when you share about how wonderful you are or what wonderful things God did for you. You are to witness to Jesus Christ, who He is and what He did for you.

In talking about salvation, people say, “Commit your life to Him.” If you ask them what they mean, they say, “Yield your life to Him.” Do you really think He wants your life? He says that our righteousness and even our so-called good deeds are filthy rags in His sight. God doesn’t want your dirty laundry, my friend. I am afraid that we have gotten into the habit of using words that take away the real meaning of the gospel.

There is another word that is surely being worn out and whose tread is really becoming thin. Love is a high word of Scripture, but it has been worn out on the freeway of present-day usage. It has been emasculated of its rich, vital, virile, and vigorous Bible meaning. It’s been degraded to the level of a bumper sticker which says, “Honk if you love Jesus!” If you love Jesus, you don’t run around honking your horn. If you love Jesus you’re going to live a life of obedience to Him.

My point is that today there is a great deal of “churchianity” that is bland and bloodless, tasteless and colorless. It is devoid of warmth and feeling. There is no personal relationship with Christ that is meaningful and productive. One liberal pastor wrote that it made him sick to hear people talk of a personal relationship with Christ. I would surely make him sick if he would listen to me, because the thing you have to have, my friend, is a personal relationship with Christ. Your ritual and your liturgy are not worth the snap of your fingers unless you have a life that is related to Jesus Christ.

If there is no deep yearning for a life that is well pleasing to Him, if there is no stimulating desire to know Him and His Word, church membership is just like a young man falling in love with a furnished apartment and marrying an electric stove, a refrigerator, a vacuum cleaner, a garbage disposal, and a wet mop! That is just about all it amounts to. Let’s stop playing church today and start loving Christ and living for Him!

THE BENEFITS OF FRESH, RAW FOODS

Fresh fruits and vegetables contain more vitamin and enzymes than overripe fruits and vegetables or ones that have been stored for any length of time. The longer a food is kept, the more nutrients it will lose. The healthiest foods are those that have been grown organically. These foods are grown without the use of insecticides, herbicides, artificial fertilizers, or growth stimulating chemicals. Organically grown food can be found in select health food stores. Check with your local store.

All foods must be thoroughly washed before they are eaten to rid them of any insecticides or other residue. Use a soft vegetable brush to scrub the foods, and then let them soak in water for ten minutes. You can also clean the food with nontoxic rinsing preparations, which are available in reputable health food stores. However, if the food is obtained from an organic source, water and a vegetable brush are probably all that are necessary.

Although most people are used to eating almost all cooked foods, fruits and vegetables should be eaten raw as much as possible. Vitamins and enzymes are extremely sensitive to heat and are destroyed in the cooking process. If raw foods are unavailable, frozen foods can be used as a substitute; however, do not use processed, canned, or boxed foods. If you find it difficult to eat raw foods, steam them slightly or use a wok.

Most fruits and vegetables should be eaten in their entirety, as they have valuable nutrients in all of their parts. Except for citrus fruits, eat the skins and rinds as well as the flesh. Eat the white part inside the skin of the citrus fruit for its vitamin C and bioflavonoid content. Except for lemons, however, keep the ingestion of citrus fruits to a minimum. Lemon juice is an effective healing agent. Add to a cup of warm water first thing every morning.

 

 

The Downfall of a Nation

In the Book of Judges a great principle of government is presented, a principle which is also stated very clearly in the prophecy of Isaiah. All of the subsequent prophets simply bear out and apply this principle which has already been stated. The principle is this: There are three steps in the downfall of a nation. First of all, there is religious apostasy. The second step is moral awfulness. And the third step is political anarchy. These are the three steps by which nations pass off the stage of human history. That has always been the way it has moved. You see, the primary problem never was political anarchy. The primary problem never was moral awfulness. As bad as these are, the root problem goes back to religious or spiritual apostasy, a turning away from the living and true God.

The downfall of a nation begins in idolatry; it begins in turning away from the living and true God. We would like to think that idolatry has gone out of style, that no one today in this country is bowing down to an idol. That, of course, is not true. Many a man today is worshiping the almighty dollar. Many a man worships sex. Many a man worships pleasure. May I say to you, anything that you give yourself to, anything that takes all your time or energy, anything that takes all of you is what you worship. That, my friend, is your god, that is your idol, and that is what God condemns. God says that He is a jealous God. He says, “I made you. I created you. I have redeemed you. And I want you.” When a man turns his back on God, he is doing the worst thing any man can possibly do.

But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him. (Habakkuk 2:20)

Personally, I believe this looks to the future when the Lord Jesus Christ will come to the earth. When He is in His temple down here, the whole earth will be silent before Him. All of the noise, all of the clamor, all of the protest, all of the confusion will disappear at that time. But it is also true that it applies to today. The reason we are having all these difficulties and problems down here is that, although He is yonder in heaven, although the Lord is in His temple, man does not bow before Him and recognize Him. It would be a wonderful thing if we could just have a week of silence. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone in Washington, D.C., would keep his mouth shut for a week? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all of us preachers on radio would keep our mouths shut? Wouldn’t it be a wonderful thing if everyone who is doing so much talking would just keep quiet and wait before almighty God?

Just like Habakkuk’s questions, the psalmist asks, “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?” (Psalm 2:1). Why all the clamor? Why all the protest? Because they are far from God. Our problem today is a problem of man’s relationship to God. My friend, there is only one alternative, there is only one way out: “The just shall live by his faith” (Psalm 2:4).

THE HAZARDS OF OVERCOOKED FOODS

If you cook food too long, especially over a charcoal grill, it will brown and burn. When ingested, overcooked foods have proven to be potentially highly carcinogenic. Bread crust and other toasted material that has been browned and burned will contain a variety of agents that may cause CANCER. In fact, many chemicials that produce cancer in animals have been isolated from cooked protein.

The amount of overcooled foods that are ingested varies from person to person, but some may consume many grams daily. By comparison, a half gram of this same dangerous burned material is inhaled by someone smoking two packs of cigarettes a day. Smokers have readily detectable levels of these carinogens in their urine as compared to nonsmokers. Similarly, nitrogenous substances are consumed by people who eat fried pork or bacon. When the fat, protein, and other organic compounds contained in the animal are cooked at extreme temperatures, changes in chemical structure occur. These toxic chemical changes in the overcooked foods, when ingested into the human body, put the individual at rick for CANCER.

INFUSE YOUR BODY WITH LIVE ENZYMES

After you commit to stop poisoning your cells (and subsequently your tissues and organs) with synthetic indigestible foods and replace these foods with transition foods and quick exit meals, it’s time to start hiring “workers” to do your “housecleaning.”

This is where the raw foods come in. Raw foods contain something that cannot be found in any other food: live enzymes. Enzymes are the catalyst for every human function. We were born with the capacity to produce a great deal of enzymes and started life with a huge enzyme “bank account.” However, the standard cooked American fare uses up enzymes in digestion without replacing them, and over time we become enzyme impoverished. We perceive this as a slowing metabolism. Of course our body is going to slow down if we are running low on our “workers.” You’ll see for yourself how your metabolism will increase when you start feeding your body live enzymes.

Returning to the concept of the enzyme bank account, when you eat uncooked plant food you are taking in large amounts of live enzymes (live enzymes mean active enzymes or enzymes that have not been destroyed by heat at temperatures of 118F and above). The more enzymes you take in through raw plan food, the wealthier your enzyme bank account becomes. The wealthier you are in enzymes, the more fuel you will have to complete the chores that your body must do. If your body can get back to maximum production (as it did in your youth) you will suddenly find yourself living in a younger feeling body.

Here’s another way to look at the importance of enzymes. We are living beings. Although no one will dispute that, our civilization consumes food that is dead or cooked. Ask yourself, how can dead food sustain living beings without making those being less vibrant? Eating living foods makes us more vibrant—literally “full of life.”

To recap, the only place you will find the workers you need to detoxify your cells and restore you to a youthful state is in uncooked plant and their juices. These enzymes will happily do all your dirty work for you, scrubbing night and day while you work and sleep, but you have to get them into your system first. Since you can only get enzymes by eating uncooked plant foods, you need to figure out how often you can slip these enzymes into your meals.

One of the best ways to do this is by eating nothing but fresh fruit in the morning for breakfast and by making sure you eat a sumptuous raw vegetable salad with your lunch and dinner meals. Some of my more advanced clients find that eating only uncooked plant foods until their dinner meal works very well for them. They segregate their day into two parts and know they can have a broad range of choices for a cooked dinner every night after eating a storehouse of enzymes all day. I call this “raw till dinner.” They may choose to enjoy a properly combined raw or cooked meal at that time and digest it seamlessly. The added benefit to eating uncooked, enzyme-rich plant in the predinner hours is that you avoid the fatigue that comes from eating “dead” food during the day.

The theory of eating the biggest meal early in the day is one of the major misnomers that I constantly come across. You’ll see when you undertake this program that by eating lighter, enzyme-based foods in your busy working hours, you will have incredible energy. The time to eat heavier cooked foods (if you do at all) is when your working day is over and that energy is no longer needed for work. Don’t take my word for it or write it off, just try it for yourself, and see if, after a few days you aren’t a convert to this approach to your daily intake.

Many of you are not quite ready to go “raw till dinner” every day. But you will still see that eating the quickest exit foods early in the day and saving the heavier foods for later (ideally dinnertime) will leave you feeling much more energized during your busiest times. EAT QUICK EXIT FOODS IN QUICK EXIT COMBINATIONS

It’s time for you to learn the secret to eating for weight loss and constant waste elimination. At the core of this secret is your digestive system. If your digestive system is able to move food through very quickly (thus eliminating it quickly), you will minimize the waste matter that can accumulate in your body and avoid weight gain for the rest of your life!

The first thing you want to do is eat foods that are the easiest to digest and move out of the body. The second thing to do is eat these foods in “quick exit combinations.” This means that when you make a meal out of high quality, quick exit foods, the combinations of the foods in your meal should also be as easy as possible to digest. As you’ve learned, the quicker the food is digested the less waste matter it will leave. But it’s equally important to remember that if you’re eating foods that take a long time to be digested, your body’s energy and resources are being wasted on breaking down meals rather than helping your body to renew and cleanse.

In addition to helping you lose weight, eating in quick exit combinations can relieve digestive problems such as acid reflux, gassiness, constipation, IBS, and more. Once you learn to eat in quick exit combinations, you will immediately begin to feel energized and the pounds will begin to drop off!

QUICK EXIT HIERARCHY OF FOOD

(1 = best, 11 = worst)

  • Raw fruits and vegetables (preferably organic) such as apples, grapes, melons, bananas, avocados, romaine lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, kale, tomatoes, etc,; raw honey, stevia (a natural sweetener)

 

  • Lightly-steamed, low-starch vegetables (all vegetables other than white potatoes, acorn and butternut squash, and pumpkin); pure maple syrup, agave nectar

*Note that corn and legumes are starches, not vegetables.

 

  • Organic raw nuts and seeds (almonds, pine nuts, walnuts, macadamia nuts, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, etc.)

 

  • Raw stone-pressed or cold-pressed plant oils (especially olive oil, though hemp seed and flex seed oils are also acceptable)

 

  • Cooked starchy vegetables (sweet potatoes, butternut and acorn squash, pumpkin, etc.)

 

  • Raw unpasteurized daily products (particularly from goats and sheep)

 

  • Whole grains (brown rice, millet, whole wheat, buckwheat, etc.)

 

  • Pasteurized dairy and animal flesh (preferably limited to organic fish and minimal organic meat and poultry products)

 

  • All non-whole grain flour products (white bread, white rice, white pasta, white pizza dough, flour tortillas, etc.); sugar (white sugar, brown sugar, corn syrup, etc.)

 

  •   Cooked animal fats/hydrogenated oils (lard, cooked oils, etc.),mainstream meats, poultry; soy products

 

  •   Chemicals, artificial coloring and sweeteners (aspartame, saccharine, unnatural additives of all kinds)

 

Eating within Quick Exit Food levels 1 to 8 is acceptable in the Raw Food Detox Diet program and doable for anyone. You will reach the highest levels of health when you eat within level 1 to 5, but you can work your way up to those levels (if that is your goal) at your own pace.
